Victory Junction Reach Program

The support shown by credit unions, its employees and its members allow children and families in hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses in the Carolinas to experience the magic of Victory Junction’s camp. Reach is made possible by an exclusive partnership between Victory Junction and the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. The generous support of the credit union industry brings specialized camp-style programming to children and families year round outside the gates of Victory Junction.

The Reach Team members are specially trained staff that work closely with the hospital’s “Child Life” team to develop an activity plan specifically designed for the individual facility to enhance and support the existing pediatric program. This hands on approach includes room-to-room visits as well as a “Camp Day” format. Each Reach activity is carefully designed to meet the specific needs and abilities of each child and all activities are provided in compliance with hospital and Ronald McDonald House policies. Visits by the Reach Team help reduce the stress of a hospital stay with creative and age-appropriate camp fun including painting, wood working, song writing, crafts, puppetry, games and many more exciting and creative activities. The goal of each visit is to brighten each child’s day and bring a special smile to their faces – Victory Junction Style.Impact Map

In 2015, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation pledged to support the Reach Program for four years with an $800,000 commitment. The impact this program has on the lives of children in the Carolinas as well as their families speaks to the heart of the Foundation’s mission, which is to enrich the lives of children. Since our partnership began in 2015, more than 10,000 children have experienced the Reach Program.

If your credit union is interested in working with Reach on a “Camp Day” at a Ronald McDonald House, please contact us. The 2017 volunteer dates are available here. We can also help with fundraising ideas to motivate credit union employees and members to donate to such an amazing initiative. Donations to Reach can be mailed directly to the Foundation or made online here.
