The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation and it’s Board of Directors are committed to the credit union industry’s adopted 8th Cooperative Principle that asserts an unambiguous commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. We believe that the credit union movement can transition intent into action. Together we can create a sense of belonging for all through fair and equitable policies, products, programs and initiatives for employees, members and our communities. At the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, we want to create consistency with awareness, acknowledgement, education and empowerment around our 8th Cooperative Principle of DEI. The impact of the work is visible across the Carolinas, proving that by leveraging our cooperative spirit, we can change our communities.

We lend a hand in time of need for our local, national and international credit union communities.

Educational dreams by credit union members are achieved through our streamlined scholarship program for credit unions and chapters.

We oversee donor-advised funds on behalf of credit unions and chapters, formalizing the creation of foundations for non-profit
grant initiatives.

We recognize our credit union heroes and organizations that exemplify our ideas.

When budget limitations prevent professional development opportunties, the Foundation can help.

Who We Are

Putting people first has always been the credit union way. Since 1993, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation has served as a partner in philanthropy to provide credit unions with collaborative opportunities for greater community impact. We prove that great things can happen when credit unions, focused on their founding principle of concern for the community, unite their resources toward the greater good.

What You Can Do

The Foundation relies solely on the efforts of volunteers and the financial support of credit unions and business partners. We ask that you help spread the word and share in the impact your Foundation makes in the Carolinas. The Foundation hosts a number of fundraising and volunteer events annually. Participating in or sponsoring these events are fun ways to show your support.

Of course, all donations are tax-deductible. Consider honoring or remembering individuals with gifts to the Foundation, or by establishing funds for various purposes. Also, you can add meaningful impact by encouraging donations in honor of your credit union during contract negotiations with business partners.

Through the Community Investment Fund, credit unions are able to financially support the Foundation's scholarships and programs by sharing a portion of interest earned on investments with Vizo Financial. Any investment at Vizo can be part of the Community Investment Fund and any portion of the interest revenue can be directed to the Foundation. Also watch for periodic investment specials from Vizo to benefit the Foundation.

We are working to push the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation generations ahead by establishing the new Community Endowment Fund. Managed by Vizo Financial, this fund will be used exclusively to support programs and grants in local communities of the Carolinas.

What People Are Saying

The Foundation’s turnkey service was exactly what we were looking for. Also, the fact that you assisted us even after the application period had already started, was nothing short of amazing. Your responsiveness and attention to detail helped us to make the process seamless for our members.

Corey J. Brickers

VP Marketing and Business Development, Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union

“I appreciate the opportunity afforded by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Professional Development Grant. The Financial Conference had good information provided by the speakers and great fellowship with credit union peers, corporate employees and League staff. My credit union would not have been able to afford to expense of the conference. Thank you!”

Lola Bumbarger, formally Century Credit Union

“The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation has been wonderful to work with! Their commitment to enriching the lives of children across the Carolinas has opened doors for the credit unions we represent and made it easy to give back to our communities in such meaningful ways. As a volunteer at the Reach Carnival, I thoroughly enjoyed being able to play with the children at the Levine Children’s Hospital! To see the children and their families have fun and pause for a minute in the midst of their medical challenges was priceless. Thank you Carolinas CU Foundation for creating such an impactful partnership with Victory Junction!”
